About 13 weeks ago Is Google+ for photographers dead?

Pardon my long rant here, but I read on and chime in as well.

There's been a lot of talk lately about the state of things at Google+, with the departure of Vic Gundotra and Google emphasizing Google+ just in general. I never paid too much attention on how Google+ was doing overall because I enjoyed it as a social for photographers more than anything, an area where I know Google+ was a success. I was using Facebook for everything else. We went on G+ photowalks together, I made a lot of new photographer friends (some local like +Michael Bonocore, +Chris Chabot, +Karen Hutton and +Nathan Wirth and others are as far away as +Dave Powell in Japan and +Gordon Laing and +Andy Lee in England).

We published two volumes of charity photobook +Plus One Collection (with the third one still on the work, albeit more slow than last two times), which was a lot of fun and something I'm very proud of.

And the biggest one yet - +Markham Bennet

I turn around and my 2 year old is long gone. Long beaches are the best.

About 4 weeks ago Update on the status of the Plus One Collection book

It's been a while that I mentioned anything about +Plus One Collection Volume III which we started to plan publishing earlier in the year. I now get daily inquiries about the status of the project, and I know I need to address this quickly.

The short answer is that we're still working on it and hope to publish it soon!

Now the longer answer.. The bulk of the work is done by +Andy Lee and myself and we both got extremely busy this year with various personal things. That put the book project on the back burner. We've always done it for fun, and as volunteers with no compensation. A lot goes into the publishing of the book. Putting images together, selecting the right ones to publish, then publishing it, shipping. There's also accounting, legal, and other issues that happen behind the scenes. Sometimes life gets too busy to work on the volunteer projects, and that's exactly what happened here.
