About 4 days ago Palais Garnier, Paris, France
I was excited to realize that Google has introduced Street View imagery for the interior of this 1,979-seat opera house, which was built from 1861 to 1875 for the Paris Opera.

You can explore the interior here: https://www.google.com/maps/@48.871725,2.331798,3a,75y,121.05h,97.56t/data=!3m5!1e1!3m3!1sPc5aJAv_UvVMBEHNmJDIkw!2e0!3e5

Info on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palais_Garnier

In the year 1900 Paris was the third most populated urban centre in the world only behind London and New York City. It was home to 2,714,068 inhabitants. You can see my related population data article here: http://www.thebillywilson.com/2014/04/every-city-in-world-with-more-than.html

About 6 weeks ago Bleeding Hearts
Here are some more flowers from my yard. I've liked these since I was a little child. You can read about the plant here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamprocapnos_spectabilis I didn't know they were native to Siberia and Northern China.

About 1 week ago I found this house in Saint-Jean-de-l'Île-d'Orléans, Quebec while exploring on Google Street View. It's a Victorian era Second Empire styled house with a Quebec flavour. It has a number of charming features including the a type of metal roofing I've only see executed in Quebec. If you look closely at the mansard roof, you can see how it's applied diagonally instead of horizontally like most shingle roofed buildings. I also enjoy the ornate window casings with their intricate details and how they're terminated at the top with volutes, an agraffe, and crowned with a finial.

If you look extra close, the cornice appears to be defined by a pattern of Fleur-de-lis.

You can explore this small picturesque Quebec town on Google Street View here: https://www.google.com/maps/@46.9177,-70.895649,3a,75y,141.36h,86.27t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sbRiu6R5Y9nP2lQQTMKBdPQ!2e0

I've been filming and taking pictures of a lot of the flowers coming out around my house lately. You can watch my most recent flower video here: Flowers

I hope these are enjoyed. I've been trying to work on my anxiety and obsessiveness lately.

About 7 weeks ago Strahov Monastery
Founded in 1143 and located in Prague, Czech Republic. This is one of the library rooms in the monastery. Image found via Google Earth's 360 Cities embedded imagery. Original image: http://goo.gl/4TpRck

In the year 1900 Prague was the 128th most populated city in the world with 200,000 inhabitants according to the population data that I've collected and published: http://www.thebillywilson.com/2014/04/every-city-in-world-with-more-than.html

If anyone has ever played Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness, "Strahov" might ring a bell. It's fictionally the stronghold of the Cabal.

About 8 weeks ago Here are the bases of some early 20th century skyscrapers in Lower Manhattan via Google Street View. In the year 1900 New York City was the 2nd most populated city in the world with 3,437,202 inhabitants according to the population data that I've collected and published: http://www.thebillywilson.com/2014/04/every-city-in-world-with-more-than.html

About 13 weeks ago Banteay Srei
I found this 10th century Cambodian temple on Google Street View. They've recently introduced this imagery. It should be called "Google Temple View". I love how extremely detailed the sandstone carvings are! You can read about the temple here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banteay_Srei

About 1 week ago I love these 19th century brick houses that I found in Yamachiche, Quebec via Google Street View. They're completely dripping with charm. In the year 1901 this community was the 342nd most populated urban centre in Canada, 94th in Quebec, being the home of 1,100 inhabitants. It's amazing what you can find in such tiny communities. This is the main reason for my interest in collecting historic population data. You can see my article for Canadian urban centres in 1901 here: http://www.thebillywilson.com/2014/05/the-population-of-every-incorporated.html

I've been working hard at revising it and adding more analysis to it lately.

About 12 weeks ago Downsizing my Show (TSBW)
I've come to the conclusion that I need to be able to allow myself to breathe & focus on my ever changing passions in life. I need to be in tune with how I function & adapt accordingly. With my personality & mental issues I have the tendency to intensely focus on a project for only so much time before moving onto a new one. Once I lose focus on a project it becomes torture to work on it. So what I'll be doing after tomorrow's episode is cutting back to one show per month with the first monthly episode taking place on May 23rd.

Don't get me wrong, I love my show & all that it has done. I've brought together more than 400 people, hosted it weekly for more than two years, & I've had more than one hundred episodes. I feel that it's an astonishing accomplishment given my social & mental issues & it challenged me & forced me to develop myself. People have made friendships & worked on collaborations with each o

About 9 weeks ago This is one of my favourite interiors that I've come across on Google Earth. This is Caru' cu Bere which is one of the oldest breweries in Romania and is located in Bucharest. I like the ceiling and balconies the most so we're kind of looking upwards in this screenshot. You can view the original 360 interior image taken by Michael Pop here: http://www.360cities.net/image/famous-beer-pub-carul-cu-bere-beer-carriage-bucharest?utm_source=google_earth&utm_medium=all_images#316.20,17.60,70.0
