About 8 weeks ago Pamban bridge completes 100 Years!

The Pamban Bridge is a cantilever bridge on the Palk Strait which connects Rameswaram,Tamilnadu on Pamban Island to mainland India. This engineering marvel, which was opened to public on 24 Feb 1914, has withstood world's second highly corrosive environment, and a cyclone-prone high wind velocity zone for a century. The railway bridge is 6,776 ft and it has a double-leaf bascule bridge section that can be raised to let ships pass under the bridge.

About 11 weeks ago Mumbai Monorail

Mumbai becomes the first city in India to have monorail services. India's first monorail service,  to be opened to public from Sunday, commences operation from Wadala-Chembur section(8.9 km). Monorail will reduce travel time to almost half between these two stations and is expected to ease traffic congestion in Mumbai. It is less noisy and eco-friendly as well.

About 7 weeks ago Maha Shivaratri - literally meaning the "great night of Shiva",  is the night when he is said to have performed the Tandava Nritya, or the dance of primordial creation, preservation and destruction. On March 23, 1931 Shaheed Bhagat Singh was hanged with fellow revolutionaries Rajguru and Sukhdev. Together they stood and together they died, for a nation that today stands free. Without thier passion and love for our country we wouldn't be where we are today.
