Alex Koloskov

The Lighting Magician

I am completely self taught. I don't know the rules, nor do I care about them. I don't follow the herd, I do it my way.
That’s turned out to be invaluable in what I do. It has allowed me to experiment, see outside the borders, challenge the authorities and create a stunning photography style that is crisp, sharp and crystal clear.

I’m inspired by progress and movement. I’m incredibly persistent and never take "less than perfect" for an answer. If I don't have the right tools, I'll build them myself. I like to make stuff happen.

About 8 weeks ago Kenzo Flower - using liquid splash in product photography
This is a shot form my first masterclass for liquid photography. Was fun to do it, I almost killed one Einstein by accidentally spilling water on it;-)

About 2 weeks ago * A Very Simple Splash Shot (couple of speedlites)*
How much it takes (equipment-wise and experience-wise) to  take photos like this? How much you can make with such photos selling them on photo stock agencies?

I am thinking to run an online workshop (about 3 hours long), where I'll cover from A to Z of #liquidphotograhy , so even beginner can create shots like this easily (and much more complex images as well).
Like this image if you are interested - give me an idea

Clearwater Beach
The cool thing that this is not HDR, but a single shot (yep, agains the sun) from Canon 6D (17-40 F4.0L  lens if it make any difference)
Huge dynamic range (much better than 5DMKII) allows to pull colors and highlights/shadows where it was needed.
Cool! :-)

P.S -2Ev exposure compensation, yes:)

About 10 weeks ago Studio Photography Assignment/Workshop on Photigy, a composite image - results
http://www.photigy.com/studio-photography-assignment-composite-shot/
The idea was to learn how to create an image of some interior and a product (or food) image done in a studio into one image. This technique can be challenging , but it very useful in many situations that commercial product photographer  can him/herself.
Check out what we got: http://www.photigy.com/studio-photography-assignment-composite-shot/
On the image I posted here the top left shot was done in the restaurant, top right - in a studio during the workshop, and the bottom one is a final result

P.S Post-production part will be posted tomorrow.
