I Am The White Rabbit!

"I am the white rabbit, I may not lead you to some place safe but I will lead you to some place new"   I am a Cheshire UK based photographer, self taught and specialising in landscape and street portraits using the chiaroscuro style at times but I like to move about genres to test my abilities.

I have gone on to develop photographic techniques by crossing over editing software that has given me a style that is uniquely mine.

Looking to broaden my horizons and travel more around the globe to try and capture images of my own that reflect my outlook and to show the rest of the world what I see.

"When you see your world through a viewfinder, as an image in your mind, the world is a different one to those others simply pass through, open your eyes"

I have since gone on to be internationally published in both books and magazines such as: Digital Camera and Digital Camera World issue 115 Soura magazine issue 26 Soura Magazine Turns 5 book Idea Photos and F

About 3 weeks ago Happy Birthday G+

I was here not at the very beginning but not far off, this was (I think) one of the first set images I uploaded that was getting on for three years ago. Time flies when you are having fun :)

About 13 weeks ago You Have To Believe Anything Is Possible

Talking on another site about the way as photographers we struggle to be different. So many photographers have produced so much work over the decades it's getting harder and harder to become "original"

But why is that so important?

We learn through imitation, our parents speak to us and we speak back. Our education system is based on imitation of those who have been trained to make us imitate them so we fit into society.

What you produce may not always be original, that's not the issue so don't get all bent up about that. Concentrate on making it recognisable, get that right and you have turned down the right fork in the road.

About 4 weeks ago Who Says Cats Don't Like Water?

This is Kasih and Nuri the twin Sumatran tiger cubs that are just over one year old, they are part of the conservation program at +Chester Zoo that has been fantastically successful as the adult tiger also had two cubs back in 2011.

I have been saving this just for #caturaday  :)

About 6 weeks ago Stay Quiet
Don't move, don't breathe and just maybe, just maybe she will not see you, just maybe you can escape.

But I doubt it!

An Image I have been wanting to try again, It was always a case of waiting for the right image, the first one I did was from when I first took up photography and one of my first big cat shots. You can see it in this gallery, it has taken a long while for the next shot to come along.

About 11 weeks ago To Watch

I often wonder when I watch the big cats just who is watching who, I know well that if not for the distance and the enclosure I would be hunted, not watched.

About 12 weeks ago The King At Rest

No matter what they do, the pose they take, their stance and the way they look around, the regalness of these animals always comes through. I have always had respect for big cats, the more time I spend photographing them the more that respect grows. One day I hope to be able to photograph them in their natural habitat.

About 6 weeks ago Warm Breath

Close enough you can feel her warm breath, you can reach out and touch her soft fur. You can see deep into her eyes and she into yours, tell me, what passes between you?

About 6 days ago Being self critical
Is the most positive and negative way you can be.

We have to improve in whatever field we become involved in. The problem aisles when we stop improving due to our own self criticism. We know when we have done something right or have gotten it wrong, after a while it becomes a gut instinct and you learn to roll with it. You no longer really need the validation of others but seek it out as some sort of reassurance.

Taring the scales between positive and negative is without doubt going to be one of the hardest things you will learn. Getting it wrong will punish you more than anything you will do with your kit. Learn to listen to that inner voice and set the balance right but don't allow that inner voice to start shouting.

About 5 weeks ago Let The Children Teach You

Life has so many constraints, it can wrap you up like a straitjacket of conformity and ensure you behave within its conventions.

But why?

We need to release our inner child from time to time to make us realise there is more to life than the drudgery of what we can have. We need to let children be children as long as they can, why put them in the same straitjacket we have to wear?

I have said it many times, we need the children to teach us what we have forgotten, to live again.

I have to admit I love this shot, it just worked so much better than I thought, the split the water causes in the image, the girl central to the image with the beautiful bokeh caused by the droplets of water. You cannot really set an image like this up, its just a case of being in the right place at the right time.
