I Am The White Rabbit!

"I am the white rabbit, I may not lead you to some place safe but I will lead you to some place new"   I am a Cheshire UK based photographer, self taught and specialising in landscape and street portraits using the chiaroscuro style at times but I like to move about genres to test my abilities.

I have gone on to develop photographic techniques by crossing over editing software that has given me a style that is uniquely mine.

Looking to broaden my horizons and travel more around the globe to try and capture images of my own that reflect my outlook and to show the rest of the world what I see.

"When you see your world through a viewfinder, as an image in your mind, the world is a different one to those others simply pass through, open your eyes"

I have since gone on to be internationally published in both books and magazines such as: Digital Camera and Digital Camera World issue 115 Soura magazine issue 26 Soura Magazine Turns 5 book Idea Photos and F

About 9 weeks ago Just A Field

Its just a field of daisies, wheat and other grasses, nothing more, something to pass by on your journey to work, home or just driving. To walk through as you pass your hand gently over the top of the flowers so they stroke your palm as the sky starts to burn with the glow of the setting sun. To watch and listen to the bee's as they hover back and forth, carrying the pollen that will complete the cycle. As you feel the evening breeze travel over your face and fill your lungs with purity to help your heart keep beating one more time. As the sight fills your soul with the reality of this life we have, will have and pass on.

Its just a field.

About 4 weeks ago As Angels Whisper
And the breeze dances on
The colour of sound
Is at peace within
Even the orchestra of being
Plays a melodious air
To compose a rhapsody
To fill your soul
Listen deep
Listen well
And see what the angles will whisper.

Long time no landscapes, time for a few and time to bring some more colour into my life.

About 11 weeks ago When I Grow Up

I'm going to be a fully grown lioness........hang on I am a fully grown lioness!

Cats will be cats no matter how old or big they get, they have a playful streak and sometimes it just gets the better of them.

This is one of the lionesses from +Chester Zoo  that has a Christmas tree as her new favourite toy.

About 6 weeks ago Age Is A Funny Thing

We calculate our age based on a human construct of time, the seconds within the minute, the minutes within the hour, the hours within the days, the days within the year we allow to define our age. We don't really need this construct to tell us we age, our bodies will do that for us. Growth through hormonal change, lines that will eventually appear, sliver of grey within hair and the eventual slow down of our capabilities.

But we mark this through the time construct when all this does is in fact constrict us. As we reach each milestone of life there is a belief that sensibilities must be adhered to, you can no longer do as a child, you must act and behave the way society expects adults to act.

So you will stand and watch as children play, running in and out of fountains on a hot summers day fully dressed and not caring one bit, soaked to the skin and laughing freely. Wishing you too could just let go and do it as well but knowing the rest stood watchin

About 8 weeks ago Ghosts Of The Future

"At the beginning of the 20th century there were 500,000 rhinos across Africa and Asia. This fell to 70,000 by 1970 and further to just 29,000 in the wild today"
http://www.savetherhino.org/rhino_info/rhino_population_figures

"Rhino horns are not, as once believed, made simply from a clump of compressed or modified hair. Recent studies by researchers at Ohio University using computerized tomography (CT) scans, have shown that the horns are, in fact, similar in structure to horses’ hooves, turtle beaks, and cockatoo bills. The studies also revealed that the centers of the horns have dense mineral deposits of calcium and melanin — a finding that may explain the curve and sharp tip of the horns. The calcium would strengthen the horn while the melanin would protect the core from being degraded by ultraviolet radiation from the sun. As the softer outer portion was worn away over time by the sun and typical rhino activities (bashing horns with other ani

About 4 weeks ago Life

Life, its such a simple word for what it encompasses, just four letters long L I F E, saol, leben, hidup, maisha, lifio, lavi, So many different ways to say the same thing but so many different ways to fail to understand just what it is.

We share a rock that rotates around its own axis, this rock rotates around a dwarf star at the center of our solar system. Its sits though at just the right distance away to ensure the temperature can sustain life. Its spins at just the right speed to ensure we are firmly planted upon its earth, to give us the air we breathe, the water and food to sustain ourselves.

Buts its not just us, its not just our rock that spins around a dwarf sun., its not turning just right on its own axis just for the human race. Everything that came together spawned not just us but a biodiversity so immense we fail to be able to understand it all. We find creatures  daily that have never been seen before, we lose as many as we find though, sometimes more.

About 10 weeks ago Just Beautiful

Its hard to say much more, I have a love affair with raptors, they are stunning birds and they completely captivate me whenever I am with them, This is one of three Harris Hawks I was fortunate to fly a while ago, I loved having him on my arm and watch him take off.

If you ever get the chance to do this then do it, you will never regret it.

About 8 weeks ago Lost Times

Much older image that I keep returning to of a tree lost in a storm a few years back.

The image is a bit rough and ready but I was on a major learning curve at the time after not long buying my first wide angle lens, I kinda like it though.

About 11 weeks ago Breakthrough

There is that time of a cold morning, when the mist hangs heavy in the air and obscures your view but adds a different dimension to the land. You watch as the sun rises, haunted by the mist and fog but you can see its warmth at war with the air. You know at some point the sun will win and cast its light but as that war is fought you bask within the glow shrouded by the fog. Your breath may still float in streams from your mouth to intertwine with the air but you no longer feel the cold.

You understand why the sun sets, its to show the beauty of a sunrise.

Reworking of an older image I only ever had in monotones, it needed colour :)
