Lotus F1 Team; Home to Kimi Räikkönen, Romain Grosjean & the E21 Formula 1 Car
Lotus F1 Team began Formula 1 in 1981 as Toleman Motorsport before being renamed as Benetton Formula In 1986 following its purchase by the Benetton family. A relocation from the team’s birthplace in Witney to our current home in Enstone was the next adventure in 1992, and signalled the start of a rapid rise for the former championship minnows.
Lotus F1 Team history in Formula1
Just two years after relocating, the first World Championship silverware was brought home to Enstone thanks to Michael Schumacher; the German clinching the 1994 Drivers’ Championship before helping the team to a double success with the 1995 Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championship titles.
In 2002 the team took on a new identity as Renault F1 Team, with Fernando Alonso leading the squad to glory; culminating in Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championship titles in both 2005 / 2006.
Now with the Lotus F1 Team name above the door, 2007 Formula 1 World Champion Kimi Räikkönen and highly rated Frenchman Romain Gr
