About 1 week ago Sunset at the Mosque

This is another photo from my trip to Abu Dhabi, where I photographed the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. I caught this side of the mosque just as the sun was dipping over the horizon. :)

Processed using +Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, +Adobe Photoshop, and +onOne Software's Perfect Effects.

About 5 weeks ago "Symmetry" - My submission to the +Plus One Collection

Tomorrow, March 17, is the last day to submit your photo to the Plus One Collection! This was my submission, probably one of my stand-out images from last year.

For more information on this project, along with a link to submit your own photograph, please head over to +Ivan Makarov's post here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/+IvanMakarov/posts/c54Y13Ljif2

About 2 weeks ago Space Needle City

Of all the places I have lived and left, Seattle is one that I truly miss. It's such a perfect city ... not too big, not too small, but with all the comforts of city life. I could walk to Pike Place Market whenever I liked, and this amazing view was from the roof-top, just a few floors up from my apartment! One nice thing about being in Portland is that it's just a short drive/train-ride up. I see weekend-trips to Seattle in my near future ... :)

About 12 weeks ago "Risk Appetite", an excellent blog post by +Mason Marsh

http://www.masonmarsh.com/blog/2014/1/risk-appetite

If you're a photographer with expensive gear, I highly recommend reading this article by +Mason Marsh. To (very quickly) sum it up, getting into the water, on a ledge, or anywhere you can hurt yourself or your camera gear is risky ... at the very least, be insured! Don't expect everything to be okay if/when something happens ... they're called "accidents" for a reason.

http://www.masonmarsh.com/blog/2014/1/risk-appetite

I photographed this image at Cape Kiwanda, and can concur with what Mason says about the area ... you need to watch your step, the tide, and the water! I'm not a very risky person when it comes to photography, I don't consider myself a very graceful person, so I tend to take the "easy" way about. :)

About 6 weeks ago Until Next Time, Thailand!

In just a few hours I set sail for the US and say goodbye to Thailand. I had such an amazing adventure with the ladies of +The Giving Lens, and also got some really great photos along the way. It's been almost two weeks, and I'm ready to go back ... I have about 36 hours of traveling ahead of me, but it will be nice to finally see +Brian Matiash and +Kodak Matiash again! :)

One of the day-trips we were able to make was a trip to an elephant sanctuary. This photo is from our trip to the Ran Tong Elephant Rescue, a safe-haven for elephants where they are treated kindly and with respect (http://www.elephant-training.com/). It was so amazing to be right up next to these beautiful creatures! This was definitely an experience I will never forget.

About 5 weeks ago Green

Ok, so I'm a day late with the "green" theme, but I'm excited today because tomorrow I'm heading to Portland to do some very important shopping. I'm sure I'll have some time to lug the camera around this beautiful, lush landscape, too. :) I'm really looking forward to seeing some clouds and rain, something I have dearly missed these past several months.

Processed using +Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, +onOne Software's Perfect Effects, and a little bit of +Adobe Photoshop.

About 2 weeks ago Happy-land

Just less than a month and Kodak will get to run free in the most awesome dog park on the planet! We've missed having off-leash parks nearby (not just caged areas with dirt) and we'll be getting to Oregon just in time for Spring. I can't wait! :)

About 12 weeks ago Happy Dog

+Brian Matiash and I seriously have one of the cutest dogs on the planet. I may be biased, but seriously, look at those ears! And that smile! We got +Kodak Matiash as a puppy from a local shelter in Portland back in 2012, and before we went there we had already "picked out" one of his siblings. The shelter accidentally gave that one to another family, and Kodak was the only one left. Thank goodness for their mistake! We were happy with him from the moment we saw him ... he's our little baby and adds so much joy to our lives. :)

About 10 weeks ago Blueberry French Toast

I made brunch for me and +Brian Matiash this morning, and couldn't resist photographing it, too. It's one of those unplanned photo-shoots, but the food just looked to beautiful to resist. :)

I also used two of my new ceramic pieces in this shot, along with a hand-knitted placemat. Making stuff is fun :)
