About 1 week ago 15 GB now shared between Drive, Gmail, and Google+ Photos

Today we’re improving the way you use storage in +Google Drive, +Gmail, and +Google+ Photos. Instead of having 10 GB for Gmail and another 5 GB for Drive and Google+ Photos, you’ll now get 15 GB of unified storage for free to use as you like between Drive, Gmail, and Google+ Photos.

About 8 weeks ago Introducing Google Keep, a new Android app to save ideas and organize to-dos the moment they happen by creating notes, lists, photos and voice recordings right from your phone. You can access, edit, and create new notes on the web at http://drive.google.com/keep, and in the coming weeks, you'll also be able to do the same directly from your Google Drive. Download Google Keep from Google Play on devices running Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, and above devices. Learn more on the Android blog: http://goo.gl/ojCp1

About 12 weeks ago A new way to view files in Google Drive

Beginning today, Google Drive will let you quickly preview more than 30 file types and quickly flip between files until you find the one you want.

From the preview window, you can click on the side arrows to flip to other files, watch video files or scroll through multi-page documents. You can even select and copy text from the preview -- even for a PDF. And you have one-click access to share, download, print or open a file for editing.

About 3 weeks ago If you've set up Google Drive offline, you can now create and edit drawings offline. In addition, all of your Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides will now be automatically available offline (space permitting), so you won't have to worry about remembering that specific file before catching your flight!

It may take a few days to see these changes as we complete the rollout. If you haven’t used offline yet, give it a try today: http://goo.gl/4BgYa

About 7 weeks ago If you’re looking for a way to control which values can be entered into a spreadsheet (for accurate and consistent collecting), look no further than our “data validation” feature. With today’s update to Google Sheets, we’ve made data validation even easier and more intuitive.

Say you need to track who brings what for a group trip. Just create a spreadsheet and use data validation to customize a drop-down list of what’s needed -- for the beach, for activities, for first aid. As you type into a cell, autocomplete will filter options to find what you’re looking for and keep data entries nice and neat.

Give it a try (http://goo.gl/vKI9M) and let us know what you think in the comments!

About 2 weeks ago Sheets in Drive, now with comment-only access

You can now give people comment-only access to your spreadsheets, just like you can with Google Docs and Slides. This is useful when you’re looking for feedback on a spreadsheet and would like to review comments from others before actually making any changes.

See how commenting works (http://goo.gl/HWX4l) and give the setting a try the next time you share a spreadsheet. Don't see it yet? Hang tight -- we're rolling it out over the next week.

About 1 week ago Quicker renaming of your sheet tabs

Last week, Sheets in Drive got updated with comment-only access; on Monday, sharing in Drive on desktop got easier; and yesterday, Forms got some handy new question types. That momentum continues today with an update that makes it easier to rename tabs inside a spreadsheet.

Rather than opening up a separate dialog box, you can now rename a sheet tab inline by double clicking it. Plus, when you move around a sheet, you’ll notice that the tabs animate and slide around -- similar to browser tabs in +Google Chrome .

About 6 weeks ago Viewing shared folders in Google Drive just got a whole lot prettier. Over the next week, users who are invited to open a shared folder will notice a much improved visual layout of the folder’s contents. You can even click on an item to preview and flip between the content.

Want to keep the shared folder? Use the “Add to Drive” button on the top right to store it directly in your Drive for fast access across all devices.
