About 5 weeks ago The Pictures We've All Been Waiting For
A historic moment in sea turtle conservation: 52 endangered Kemp's ridley, green and loggerhead sea turtles head back into the wild ocean after successful rehabilitations at East Coast facilities. Half of those turtles came from the New England Aquarium! Thanks to so many who made this event possible, like our caravan comrades at +National Aquarium.

About 7 weeks ago Lion Week
Our friends at +Zoo Atlanta (edit: and many others!) are celebrating Lion Week to raise awareness about protecting lions in Africa. Of course, we don't have lions here at the Aquarium, but we do have sea lions. Join us in celebrating the lions of the sea and sub-Saharan Africa, and let's work to protect the places they call home.

#lionweek  is a hashtag on G+ and Twitter to spread awareness for lions in Africa.

About 2 weeks ago An Octopus and Her Toys
Octopuses are smart animals and they need stimulation to keep their minds and bodies healthy. So our animal caregivers treated our new eight-armed beauty to a big plastic ball smeared with fish juice. You could say she loved it. Here's more: http://goo.gl/X8MSe

About 9 weeks ago A great day for manta rays!
Manta rays are among the latest animals to receive protection from CITES. The Aquarium has a teensy part of that. Our Marine Conservation Action Fund supported research by the Manta Trust! Learn more here: http://goo.gl/cmFLR
